The airline TUI fly flies for TUI and other tour operators to the classic vacation regions around the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Madeira and Egypt.
TUI fly Vermarktungs GmbH, which operates the TUIfly.com flight portal, is a subsidiary of TUI Deutschland GmbH and belongs to the TUI Group, the world's largest tourism group.
TUI fly had decided to change the payment service provider (PSP) that handles customer payments to the payment providers (e.g. credit card companies). The new payment service provider had to be connected to the reservation system New Skies as well as to the financial system SAP and the different credit card acquirers.
An experienced SAP consultant and project manager from neusta enterprise services took over the management and technical support of the project.
The core project team consisted of the project manager, developers from TUI InfoTec, experts from the specialist departments at TUI and TUI fly, and contacts on the part of the PSP and the credit card acquirers.
Since the project members and system operators were located at different German and international sites, one challenge was to make the exchange of information primarily remote.
The neusta project manager created an as-is analysis and the conception based on it in the direction of the SAP system. He created the continuing roadmap and coordinated the coordination and programming of the new interfaces between the project members involved. Relatively large files had to be read out for the transfer of the data into SAP. Finally, the extensive tests were technically accompanied.
The replacement of the payment service provider was carried out "silently" for TUI fly's end customers. Immediately after go-live, all payments were successfully processed via the new PSP. The new SAP interface also ran smoothly.
