TUI Deutschland GmbH was founded in 1968 and is based in Hanover. It is the leading tour operator in Germany and a wholly owned subsidiary of the TUI Group, the world's largest tourism group. The tour operator is responsible for the creation, distribution and marketing of holiday tours on the German market.
In the course of the change of the financial system to SAP, in which neusta enterprise services played a leading role, TUI Deutschland GmbH commissioned the programming of a stand-alone solution for flight accounting.
The new FAIS system was developed at two locations. team neusta was commissioned with the development of the import interfaces, with project management and with supporting the specialist department with the user acceptance tests. A company in Braunschweig took over the development of the core application. After the end of the project, the source code was transferred to team neusta.
During the implementation, dependencies on the parallel replacement of Oracle Financial by SAP had to be taken into account. Various interfaces were created for importing customer and supplier master data as well as accounting-relevant data from several previous systems. The development was carried out according to the agile Scrum method in fortnightly sprints. The team of ten was divided into the roles of project management, scrum master, product owner, developer and tester.
The new FAIS application differs from the previously used Oracle solution in many ways. The web-based application is not only cloud-enabled, but also provides a much more user-friendly interface with individual setting options and several languages. For users, the new FAIS allows improved monitoring and error handling of the interfaces. Created invoices are transferred to SAP.
During the project phase, a lot of expertise was built up, so that neusta enterprise services was also commissioned by TUI with the support of FAIS and further sub-projects.
